With the agreement finalized, we are no longer a stand-alone, independent health system – instead, we are a part of North Carolina’s leading public academic health system, UNC Health.
This is a win-win for both organizations. We will learn from each other and take the best of both our organizations to create a healthier North Carolina. We have a lot of work to do, but we’re moving forward together in the right direction.
Over time, will work to expand access to local services and providers through our alignment with UNC Health. In other areas where UNC Health has partnered with local providers, they have grown oncology, cardiovascular and other services by recruiting providers, opening new facilities and more.
Southeastern Health will benefit from UNC Health’s existing population health management strategy and initiatives such as data analytics, new value-based payment models and more.
By partnering with UNC Health, we can recruit even more primary care physicians, physician specialists and subspecialists, and other clinical professionals to our already strong team.
Southeastern will benefit from the scale and expertise of UNC Health in areas such as clinical and organizational development initiatives, purchasing agreements, access to clinical and operational subject matter experts, and more.
